ELIXIR with Lemon Ginger + Turmeric

Ingredients

2 meyer organic lemons ~if available or Eureka etc. - juiced and zested with microplane or similar

1/3 c fresh organic turmeric root ~ rough chopped

1/4 c fresh organic ginger root ~ rough chopped

pinch organic cayenne pepper ~ adjust for spiciness of cayenne

1/8 t fresh cracked organic black peppercorns

3/4 t raw local honey

1 C Filtered water

Tools

high speed blender, microplane, cheese cloth, glass jar with lid such as a mason jar.

Method

Blender Method

STEP I :: To a high speed blender such as vitamix or ninja, add turmeric + ginger root and blitz. Scrap down sides as needed and add citrus juice and zest and blitz. Pour mixture through cheese cloth and release liquid into glass jar with lid, such as a mason jar.

STEP II :: Add 1 C filtered water, cayenne, black pepper + honey to jar. Tighten lid and shake. Store in fridge up to 2 days.

Juicer Method

STEP I :: Juice lemons (rind removed), turmeric and ginger. Transfer liquid to mason jar with lid and continue with Step 2 above.

For a single serving quick elixir on the way out the door grab a mason jar and…

Juice lemon into the jar, microplane turmeric + ginger to taste, add a pinch of cayenne + black pepper, splash of honey or pure maple to taste.

Fill jar with filtered water or coconut water, screw on lid & shake. Ice cubes optional for those warm days. ENJOY!
